The Anti-Protestantism of Buchez, catholic jacobinophile of the 1820's and 1830's.The paper studies how P.J.B Buchez (French historian and politician with strong catholic and egalitarian convictions, active in the 1820’s and 1830’s) sees the huguenot past of the French monarchy and why he deems individualist and bourgeois ideas rooted in the spiritual intuitions of Luther and Calvin responsible for the inequities of the capitalist society.
