Illegitimate Power Strategies and the Assertion of Interests in International Relations Sharp Power and Foreign Interference

Absztrakt

Foreign interference is a manifestation of the assertion of interests through so-called sharp power strategies in international politics, which poses an increasingly greater and more frequent challenge for states, especially democracies, which, due to their open political, economic and social systems, as well as their democratic values, institutions and processes, are more vulnerable to foreign interference based on manipulation, distraction, disruption and damage. The study seeks to clarify the concepts of sharp power and foreign interference by drawing on the relevant literature, identifying the most important definitional elements of the latter, and discussing the demarcation issues related to the concept of that.
