Absztrakt

In the discipline of knowledge management validation means the accreditation of prior and experiential learning (APEL). This is a process that enables people of all ages, backgrounds and attitudes to receive formal recognition for skills and knowledge they already possess. In France it has a more than 30 years past and this is a recognized method in Western-Europe. In this study I would like to introduce the variations of the APEL in some European countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Estonia and Hungary. My aim is to point that we need to pay more attention for the validation, because in the next few years it can be a very important part of the Hungarian higher education.
