Absztrakt

The purposeful acts of everyday life are directed by values. A part of these values is obtained through socialisation. In autumn of 2013 a research has been initiated among Hungarian students of tertiary education to explore the connections of aims in life, characteristics of family behaviour and values to be obtained through socialisation at home. According to the result, the respondents’ primary aim in life is to have friends, which is embedded in their GenY membership (age between 18 and 33). Their secondary aim in life is a well-balanced family, which is easily justifiable since most of them still live in a child-status. Additionally, the main source of traditional instrumental values, – which did not cease to exist in the digital era – such as good-manner, obedience, religiousness and frugality is also the family. The importance of certain aims in life is likewise influenced by intrafamily relations and expectations.
