Absztrakt

The engineering developments and innovative motor vehicle technologies
conduce to the growth of the automotive industry. Considerable amount of
professional knowledge is incorporated in each new model to be marketed. The
multinational automotive companies have set up and expanded factories at the
sites of their subsidiary companies in Europe. Role of knowledge and knowledge
management processes have been esteemed at the multinational companies,
as well. The automotive industry has invested significant amounts in research
and development in the past years. The motor car companies in Europe support
financially the research stations and universities and so they can learn about the
new developments first hand and by this means they can increase their economic
advantages again. This study investigates the innovative activities of the motor
car companies, which have been successful during the recent years, and the effects
thereof to the economic environment in Hungary. It reveals the expenditures to innovation and its effects on the national economy and the suppliers' network.
