After death of Robert the Wise, Johanna, his granddaughter, succeeded the throne of the Kingdom of Naples. According to the testament of King Robert, Prince Andrew, Johanna's husband, was excluded from the royal and political power in Naples. Prince Andrew claimed the crown of Naples and the royal political power too. Andrew's brother, Louis the Great king of Hungary and his family, the Hungarian Anjou Dynasty supported his political ambition. Assassinating Prince Andrew, Johanna and her party took the royal power in the kingdom, but Louis the Great, king of Hungary claimed the crown of Naples from the pope, overlord in the kingdom of Naples.
