Absztrakt

The paper analyses the work, status and life of the comes terrestris of county Kőrös (Krizevci) in the XIVth century. The comes terrestris was the most important officer among the mobiles iobagiones Crisienses, he was the head of the comitatus as being nobilis iobagio castri of comitatus Kőrös. He was elected by other iobagiones castri and he was without doubt the most considerable member of his community. In some cases the life of a comes terrestris can be highlighted, but unfortunately, in most cases only the name of the comes terrestris is known. The comes terrestris had his own court of law and he judged the actions of law upon the iobagiones castri. We know only 12 charters from the XIVth century that were issued by the comes terrestris. There are 5 other charters published by the comes and comes terrestris Crisiensis. Likely the comes terrestris had not a constant chancellery. His charters were partly written by the nótárius of the comes Crisiensis and parity by others, e. g. priests from the city Kőrös.
