Absztrakt

Over the five years of the Great War, it was rare for any family to remain unaffected by the challenges of wartime care. During the Great War, data on the country’s military losses gradually became available, but no records were kept of how many people were affected by the institution of war care. After World War I, the census conducted in Hungary in 1920 provided an opportunity to collect data on casualties (wounded, prisoners of war) and war invalids. This paper aims to show how data was collected during the census and how we should approach these sources critically. The source is presented and analysed using data from Békés County.
