Absztrakt

Imre Szabó (1912-1991) plays a decisive role in the legal theoretical thinking of the socialist era. The work of the leading representative of socialist normativism, which is part of the Hungarian legal theory tradition, became the subject of critical analysis. This study aims to serve as a supplement in this process. Following Szabó’s early works, he tried to overcome the narrow-minded concept of socialist normativism with his social theoretical approach to law, which was only partially successful. The legal theoretical heritage of socialism and the evaluation of Szabó’s role in this require further research work.
