A konnektográfia geostratégiai szerepe a globális erőforrásokért folytatott politikai és civilizációs küzdelmekben

Abstract

It was Indian American geographer Parag Khanna who introduced the concept of connectography in professional literature on geopolitics. Behind the idea is the increasing trend, seen since the millennium, that geoeconomic systems are forming new types of geographical networks, which operate along new methodological principles. According to Khanna, the face of power has changed in this new scenario, as it is no longer exercised in a directly organised, hierarchical way: the foundation of the new geopolitical paradigm is comprised of the direct and indirect connection of different, sometimes distantly located, infrastructures and the management and control of the resulting supply chains.
In my study, I offer an analysis of the geopolitical and geostrategic processes that are at work in the geography of supply chains. A question that ought to be addressed is what the virtual geopolitical corpus, the “sixth continent”, the virtual network system means, from a geostrategic point of view, to the world’s current political power nodes. Will they really have the strength to override, perhaps once and for all, the still existing systems of state sovereignties operating in the framework of nation states?
