Abstract

Trunk straightness and trunk thickness of Celtis occidentalis, Celtis occidentalis 'Magnifica' and Celtis australis was investigated in Tahi Nursery and three alleys in Budapest during two vegetation periods. Our deduction of investigated species urban tolerance based on measured data. Celtis occidentalis was the worst stem builder in nursery with average trunk thickness. The straightness of Celtis occidentalis 'Magnifica' trunks had medium and strong trunk development was detected especially in nursery. Celtis australis was the best stem builder at both two locations, and outstanding trunk thickness in nursery with comparison the other species.
