Analysis of Mechanical Characteristics of Plastic Composites

Abstract

Due to their exceptional advantageous mass-referred mechanical characteristics the polymer composites are gathering more and more ground in several industrial segments, for example in the aircraft industry as well. Their application in large quantities is still limited by their price and some disadvantageous attributions compared to some other structural material. Nowadays significant quantity of higher temperature resistant polyimide and bismaleimide based thermosetting matrix resins and thermoplastic polymers are used for bedding the reinforcing materials. The goal of our examination is to analyse the operational and economy efficiency anomalies with testing and analyzing (by QUASAR 100 testing machine) the mechanical characteristics of the plastic composites used in the aircraft industry, and to make a proposal for such compounds that solve these problems.
