Economics of Modernization in Cold Storage

Abstract

In the course of our research, we aimed at the economic evaluation of the planned investment of a fruit production company in Békés county. The project under review is the expansion and development of the cold storage facility at Hunapfel Kft. The company is part of Medi Fruct Kft., so the investment is also important for many other companies for renting cold storages in Békés county. In addition, the ongoing expansion of the area of 160 hectares are now justifies the development.
The company finances the planned development from its own resources. In addition, another small loan was planned to deal with liquidity problems and to finance current assets.
However, from a proper benchmark point of view, the primary end point is taken into account when the company voluntarily supports the investment, so another method can ultimately be analysed for efficiency and payback.
We used cash flow calculations in our research, net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), payback period (PB), discounted payback time (DPP) and profitability index (PI) as economic indicators.
