Abstract

Quality has become a key expression in higher education in recent decades. In order for higher education institutions to meet social and economic challenges, quality expectations and needs, it is necessary to involve stakeholders. Employers are one of the most prominent groups of stakeholders, and as a result, meeting their expectations is becoming an increasingly important aspect of higher education. In this paper, in connection with the development of trainings at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Szeged, I examine the employer’s competency expectations that fit into the Faculty’s training portfolio. Based on the results, it can be said that the involvement of corporate partners as stakeholders can contribute to raise the quality level of the Faculty’s activities in several respects, helping to implement the Faculty’s quality improvement and development efforts.
