Abstract

Nowadays mentoring is a more and more popular form of knowledge-transfer. In the course of the process knowledge-transfer is being realized between one mentor and his mentored, which can be one-way or mutual. Within the last two years, the authors carried out fully comprehensive researches about mentoring practices in order to recognize what characteristic features this form of knowledge-sharing has in Hungarian organisations. Both qualitative researches and quantitative analyses have been carried out, which –based on questionnaires- gave the opportunity to reveal deeper correlations. The previous, qualitative analyses made us draw the conclusion that the Hungarian practices basically follow the traditional protocol; the formal and informal elements of knowledge-transfer are present at the examined organisations. Although the question is still there; how the different factors influencing success appear at the examined organisations, such as are there similarities and differences to be discovered in the mentoring practice of companies in Hungary.
