Abstract
The study examined the development activity of local businesses in one of the most oscurantist county of the socio-economic aspect of Hungary. Looking for answers what the employment opportunities are, levels of education and income of people living in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county changed in recent years (2010-2017). Are local small businesses reaching convergence in this area, are their signs perceptibly visible everyday, or is it to be stagnation, or the breakdown can be perceived? As a literature background, I studied the relationship between competitiveness, sustainability, innovation and human resources. Then, through the results of my own questionnaire, I analyzed the competitiveness of the 169 micro and small enterprises surveyed in the county in August-September 2017, in which I took the role of human resources as a priority in innovation. Finally, it will suggest a better intention for the future.
