Absztrakt

Increasing the labour market participation of persons with disability and a reduced work capacity appears both in the European Union Europe 2020 strategy and among the aims of the Hungarian governmental policy. It can be accomplished within the framework of both the sheltered and the open labour market employment. According to statistical data collection the economic activity of the target group still falls significantly behind the activity rate of persons without disability and a reduced work capacity. The results of previous research suggest that the demographic features which are typical to the target group as well as the ignorance, fears and prejudices of employers could all be in the background. Positive results don’t seem to be possible unless the economic and social participants change their attitude. A workplace that shows tolerance and acceptance requires not only the employers, but also fellow workers and colleagues to change their approach. The present study tries to seek an answer how the interviewed citizens judge the integrated labour of persons with disability and a reduced work capacity and what kind of factors influence the way of thinking in this question.
