Absztrakt

Today, turning to knowledge-based economy is one of the biggest challenges for the European Union. Successful implementation can contribute to the development of a competitive and dynamic economy. The EU has put the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the focus of the Lisbon Strategy for Growth and Jobs, as they can hope for new job opportunities, but play a decisive role in the welfare of local and regional communities. For the future prosperity of the Union it is important to see how we can build on growth and innovation opportunities for SMEs. The study is looking for answers how the SMEs in Visegrad Group perform nowadays the competitiveness SBA factors, and how they changed since 2010. The aim of the study is to underline the weaknesses of the V4 countries, so hopefully decision-makers will give more attention to them in the near future.
