Border protection of the Middle-European states was diverse. We can meet different border security organizations. Border protection in the Romanian Kingdom was completed by the armed force of the border guard corps (Corpul granicerilor), under the control of the army. The border police checked the border traffic control and the compliance of the boundary order. The border guard legion belonged under the control of both the military and the Ministry of Finances, and secured the recovery of different fees and levies with armed forces in the inner areas of the country, under the Tax Directorate. In Yugoslavia it was also the border guards, a military type armed force, who completed border protection and border traffic control. The territory of the 100-meter boundary belt was owned by the border guards. he gendarmery served as the second step of border protection in both countries. Besides cooperating custom and medical border surveillance partner organizations also took part in it.
