Gottfried Arnold and the Sophia 1. közlemény

Abstract

The publication planned to consist of several parts will present the work of Gottfried Arnold (1666–1714). This time we follow the twists and turns of his life until 1700: the first longer work on early christianity (Die Erste Liebe Der Gemeinen Jesu Christi), the Unparteyische Kirchen- und Ketzer-Historie (1699/ 1700) and next Das Geheimniß Der Göttlichen Sophia oder Weißheit published in 1700 and its German literary antecedents, inspiration. Finally we publish a piece of translation from the 15th chapter of Sophia.
