When people think of Sabbatarianism as the final destination of the Transylvanian Reformation, what first comes into our mind is usually an emphatically Szekler religious sect which was even more radical than Antitrinitarianism/Unitarianism. This study, relying on documents from the Archives of the Unitarian Church, and on the works of Mihály Balázs and Réka Újlaki-Nagy, focuses on the identity problem, and argues that the vast majority of the early Sabbatarian copyists were not Szekler, and they, usually as teachers, pertained to the Unitarian Church. Therefore the paper proposes that further research could benefit a lot from the practical approach of Lajos Demény and Levente Tóth. Their work is based on archival documents, and aims to identify the schoolmasters in the 17th century in Szeklerland, for example in the Sabbatarian Centers. This is interesting to us because thus we might be able to identify some unknown Sabbatarian copyists.
