Abstract

History teachers often encounter students with no motivation for history. When students understand that history is intriguing, they will become motivated. Modern technology and local history research will facilitate this process. Teaching history is expected to strengthen patriotism as it is requested by the National Curriculum. There are numerous online repositoríes to be used by both students and teachers in régiónál studies, either at school or as extracurricular studies. The scope of possibilities usually depends upon teachers' time and creativity. Learning can be fun for the students if we take advantage of these opportunities. In our case the example is the settlement named Pásztó, Hungary, but the same methods will work with any village or town.
