Absztrakt

To every discipline’s “self-equality” belongs the important moments of indentifying that period’s border which creates a treshold between the laic and/or stray, versus systematic, scientific analysis of the subject named in the title. Refering to Economy, it seems to be normal to connect this treshld with Adam Smiths works, however in the list of “founding fathers” – rightfully of course – there are other “nominees” such as Petty, Cantillon, Quesnay and Becaria. The study gives a short summery of the works of the authors menitoned above, and presents by which professional merit and by whom they were named between the “fathers” and “masters” of Economy. We also find answers to what exactly shoud be understood as a aggregation of professional knowledge, and if there are other authors beside the ones mentioned above who could be nominated as founders of Economy. Lastly we also discuss if it is realistic to research a disciplines origin, instead of following the developent of the science in question in a wider, system approach than a linear approach.
