Absztrakt

In my paper I am writing about the history, functions and interested groups in its construction of an in our days operating local-railway, Fertővidéki Local-railway in the historical north-western Transdanubian region in Hungary to 1920. The local-railway was built in 1897 ran from Pándorfalu on the left part of Fertő lake to Kiscell (Celldömölk) in the analysed period. It joined the GYSEV (Győr–Sopron–Ebenfurt Railway Company) line in Eszterháza-Fertőszentmiklós and beside it in 2 other junctions, in Pándorfalu and Kiscell the Hungarian railway network with Budapest centre. The main element of construction of this line was at most an agricultural factor, the sugar industry on this region, but its later functions showed, that its use is multiple. The interested settlements, counties, great holders, industrial and agricultural manufactories of area had big role in its building. So the whole region could benefit from the construction of this vicinal and transversal line.
