Abstract

Today, cities are facing increasing challenges including resource scarcity, shortcomings in urban infrastructure, inadequate energy supply, transport difficulties, environmental challenges and unemployment. The government and municipalities should strive to develop a new approach to governance, infrastructure, planning, finance and urban services. This approach is called smart city.
In my paper, I compare three studies that deal with the definition of subsystems in smart cities, and detail each of them based on the eight factors identified in the study by Chourabi et al. For the factors to work together, it is important that the electronic device supply is properly connected and intelligent, so as to ensure the sustainability and efficient functioning of the smart city and the maximum satisfaction of the citizen's needs.
