Analysis of Profitability of Sport Enterprises Operating in the Sport Sector of Hajdú-Bihar County

Abstract

Currently, sport has become an increasingly dominant industry. The need for measurability has come to the front at the management levels in this sector as well. In this study, we examined financial data of sports enterprises. Using the financial data, we examined profitability of sports companies, headquarters in Hajdú-Bihar County. Our database has collected by using data of OPTEN firm information provider company. In our sample there are the annual reports of sports companies whose main activity in the register of companies is 931 Sports activities. For comparison, the enterprises were grouped according to the scope of activity and sales revenue categories. Overall, it can be said that the enterprises with a turnover of between 50,001 and 100,000 thousand HUF have a more favourable profitability. In terms of their scope of activities, however, the profitability situation of companies operating sports facilities is the most balanced.
