Abstract

In military, organisational development terms, we live in a VUCA world of constant rapid and sudden change. The youth are perhaps the most affected by these changes, which are mainly technological. Digitalisation and the rise of various online platforms have been influencing leisure and cultural consumption patterns for decades. For this reason, public cultural and leisure institutions have to compete for the attention of this target group with a wide range of easily accessible passive and recreational entertainment options. In my presentation and in the framework of the study, I will present the sources of the problem, modern characteristics of leisure consumption and adaptation options, based on the results of my previous research using mixed methodologies. In addition to the modern leisure habits of young people, I will also discuss the challenges faced by young people in public cultural institution.
