Abstract

In my study, I discuss the relationship between neo-avant-garde artists and (primarily poststructuralist) feminist literary criticism in the 1970s and 1980s. On the one hand, the direct connections, i.e., how the neo-avant-garde scene reflected this theoretical trend, especially in the 1980s and 1990s. On the other hand, the indirect connections, i.e., the points at which the artistic and literary endeavors of these female neo-avant-garde artists — who at the time may not have been familiar with or at least not consciously aware of the texts of the theorists — intersected with feminist literary criticism.
