Territorial distribution of adult training for jobseekers supported by the Government Office in Békés county

Abstract

The aim of adult training for jobseekers is to enable the participant to find a new job in the primary labour market as soon as possible with a new marketable qualification. Békés County shows a continuous increase in adult education in the period under review. The data provided by the Békés County Government Office revealed that the trainings financed by them are concentrated in the Békéscsaba district and the training sites were located almost only in the district centres. During the HotSpot analysis an adult training centre in Békés, Békéscsaba and Gyula emerged. The education in digital form ordered by the Government did not affect the trainings initiated by the county Government Offices, as 70/2020. (III. 26.) of the Government of 1991 on the promotion of employment and the provision of benefits to the unemployed. The earnings-related benefit paid during the first pandemic period of the coronavirus would have enabled 360 people in the county to be recruited to a new marketable profession.
