Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview about the mindset theory. The theory was born out of decades of
research by American psychology professor Carol S. Dweck, and its main thesis is that people are different in
their beliefs about themselves and how they think about their own abilities. Based on that, she differentiates
between two mindsets: fixed and growth mindset. We can read about the characteristics of the two types, the
background of their origins, how they go together with certain character traits and why it is difficult to measure
the mindset mode. In our article we touch on the doubts and debates over the theory and the results of mindset
intervention.
