Ágnes Kövér, Eötvös Loránd University

KOVER-VAN TIL, AGNES habil, PhD is a lawyer and sociologist, associate professor and director of Institute of Social Studies, former director of Gender Studies MA Program (until its banning by the Hungarian government in 2018) in the School of Social Science, ELTE University, Budapest, Hungary where she teaches women and labor market policy, social care, diversity and deviance, gender discourse analysis, democracy and civil society.  She has served as a nonprofit organization executive and human-rights lawyer in Hungary. She is the author or editor of several books and numerous articles on topics as gender discourses, equal treatment and opportunities, minority rights, prisoner’s rights, and civil society and democracy. She has served as program associate director of the European Union’s Intensive (international) Program, and as Executive Director of the ELTE Legal Clinic program.
