Abstract

For a teacher, the first years of employment are a time of big changes. It is a period when the theoretical knowledge acquired in higher education is balanced with everyday practice. The cooperation between generations is key at the first job, as experienced professionals can provide support and a model for young people.


The data was collected through a 25-question questionnaire. A total of 73 speech and language therapists who had graduated in the last five years participated in the survey.


Summarizing our results, we can see that 48% of the sample is mentored, and it helps the majority of them in their work. 74% of the respondents feel that their work is not valued financially, 30% are thinking of leaving their career.
