Abstract

The rapid spread of the Covid-19 pandemic overwrites our habits, our daily routine and our way of life. For this reason, sustainability must be the guiding principle of our life strategy in the coming years. We need to rethink what we have done so far: what we need to do, what the cultural sector needs to do to stay sustainable in the future, to be able to earn a living for its employees and artists, to provide education and quality leisure time for its audience. To examine this situation, in the autumn of 2020, I conducted an online audience survey involving four public cultural institutions (Ágnes Bálint Cultural Center, Béla Kondor Community House, Pestszentimre Community House, Rózsa Cultural House), which is only the first step in the realization of the process, however, in the knowledge of the research results and with the epidemiological measures, we can organize events – even online – with which we can serve the needs of our audience even in the changed circumstances. I conducted the date collection online in November with the participation of a total of 864 people. The key segment of the research was the study of changed cultural consumer habits in relation to Covid-19.
