Abstract

Training and programme management - a cultural project related to Europe Day at the Community Cordination BA major in Szeged

In the practice-oriented curriculum of the Community Coordinator BA studies, we place great emphasis on the development of competences that strengthen students' ability to work in groups, their creativity and communication skills.  There will also be a number of programmes during the course, which will provide students with skills in organisational tasks. The project method is an appropriate tool for this educational objective and it is used in the first year of the studies to organise and run Europe-Day on 9 May. This assignment is linked to their theoretical studies through the Europe Studies course and also to the Professional Training 1 course. This paper aims to present and analyse this cultural project in comparison with the findings of the theoretical literature on the project method. Interviews with the organisers of the previously implemented Europe Day will be used to shed light on the students' experiences. This cultural project, based on student activism, can be considered as an innovative element of the Community Coordination BA major in Szeged.
